Who Ya Gonna Call?

This past Labor Day we celebrated my nephews 3rd birthday. Having earned the nickname “Tornado” during the terrible two stage, I am pretty sure my sister-in-law is ready for this natural disaster to slow down. Almost every kid has a theme for their birthday party, however his Daddy had a strong influence this year, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles didn’t make the cut. Hard to believe that almost three decades after the movie hit theaters in 1984, it’s still a popular party theme.

My brother-in-law asked me if I was willing to design a Ghostbuster theme cupcake topper. Did he really think I wasn’t up for the challenge? This was a blast!!! I volunteered to make the cupcakes as well, because I just couldn’t resist the chance to make some slime/ectoplasm.  They turned out really cute, and “Tanner the Tornado” sat very calmly, as all the birthday guests sang Happy Birthday to him. Honestly, he couldn’t wait to open presents, it was all he wanted to do, but he knew he had to get through the singing before he could tear into the stack of gifts.

I found the slime recipe on Pinterest, if any of you are needing some slime.
It was a really simple recipe, and had a lemony flavor despite the green color.
Cupcakes are so much fun and make a lot of sense when it comes to a child’s party.
Many thanks to my sister-in-law for taking the great photos and allowing me to share them.
